“JUST ONE MORE” Instance #1–
The Practice Pen: Cave Creek, Arizona – A header clearly annouces that he was going to run “Just one more” as he backed his horse in the box…. 5 steers later, he was trying to make that run worthy of quitting practice that day.
“JUST ONE MORE” Instance #2 –
9 pm Practice: New River, Arizona – There is always at least one roper… There are a few of us who practice on a regular basis, we run a few pens of steers and calls it good, BUT now with a rope pen full of ropers conscience of the “just one more” quote. We all erupt in laughter when one roper hollars “I want to run JUST ONE MORE pen of steers.”
“JUST ONE MORE” Instance #3 –
Jackpot Roping: Glen Rose, Texas – I (yes, I’m guilty too) decide to go a jackpot roping while visiting my parents. I bring a certian amount of money (intentionally) to enter 2 times. I have my 2 partners and am warming my horse up. An roper comes up to me and asks if I wanted to rope (I can’t turn this roper down, he’s a good run!) …. In the back of my mind I’m hoping I’m not going to have to hit up the ATM… “Sure, I’ll put us down.” Okay, I had an extra stash of money in my center console just incase I wanted “just one more” run!
